THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST

NBC (1983)

Believe it or not, this short lived series made the game show history books. How?

Betty White won her 4th Emmy (and first Daytime Emmy) for Best Game Show Host. The only femcee to do so!

(IMHO) Jaye P. Morgan should've hosted. It would've suited her.

Two female contestants predicted how 7 male celebrities would answer Yes-No type questions of certain subjects (IE: Do you know how to type?) Three rounds were played & the woman with the most keys won the game &...

Got a chance to try to win a beautiful Ford Mustang Convertible! Depending on how many days she's won is how many keys she chooses (she also gets an extra key if she posesses all 7 keys). If the car didn't start, she would get a consolation prize hidden in the trunk.
Prizes included trips, furniture, kitchen appliances & only once, money ($3,000). However, if she started the car, she'd win & left undefeated!

On the count of 3, 1-2-3 (VROOOOOOOOM!!!) Another happy female contestant wins a car, she screams & jumps up & down!

Balloons fall down to rub it in! All that was missing is the confetti & the whoop-Whoop-WHOOOOOOOP sirens off The Price Is Right. This gave me a Rita Repulsa headache & a stomach-ache! That's why The Game Show Witch likes Just Men! my pretty (CACKLING)!

TRIVIA

On the day it debuted (January 3, 1983), 10 EXACT years later brought MORE BAD LUCK for me! That's when The Buffalo Bills made a comeback & defeated The (then) Houston Oilers in that classic AFC Wild Card Game (41-38 OT) January 3, 1993!

On February 22-25, the show had a winning streak of four cars in a row! I would've thrown a fit if it had been 12 (a perfect 300 game in bowling). Two other game shows matched the four car winning streak; Hollywood Squares (Davidson) & Card Sharks (Eubanks).

On the Friday show, the celebrities wore light blue jackets as a souviner for being on the show. On the game show Go, Robert Mandan (Soap) & Betty White were the celebrity players for a week. Robert wore the JM jacket on an episode to honor Betty.

The final week of the series, Eric Brown (Mama's Family) had the lucky key all week. Nobody won it. Betty also did Mama's Family as well as JM!

Family Feud was opposite JM! So it was female contestants either way most of the time. CBS would've been insane replacing Young & Restless with Treasure Hunt making it a ladies sweep on all three networks!
